Justification: IMO PSSA is a legal instrument which can allow for establishing high seas ABMTs BBNJs. There are a short list of IMO management regs that can regulate shipping internationally - which applies to all vessel types, fishing, commercial otherwise, one of which is vessel speed. Functionality on the map: combine the ability to summarize vessel activity within an area of interest with an overview of spread (histogram) of vessel speed. Include function to dynamic filter speeds i.e. I want to just see vessels travelling above 15 knots because this is when mortality rate of cetaceans is 95%. When applying the speed filter you can then see which vessels, which flags and which vessel types are represented. Pipe dream function: include company level information (from IHS) on vessel so that this can then inform stakeholder consultation during preparation of PSSA dossier for case.

"Perhaps that the information is more updated not with 2 -day gap, add more information such as nonsense, authorized species, sea conditions." Feedback When filtering a vessel list in a dynamic report, can the map also be updated?

Feedback "Is it possible to show a vessel position indicator (where vessel is presently located, as per latest AIS or VMS position)."

Feedback "With an easy app and with real times in ships" "It is still a bit wonky on a mobile device, it would be good to make an app that is more stable for mobile devices."

Feedback "Providing units for data, especially apparent fishing effort data would be very helpful. I get confused about how to define each pixel of data- hr/km sq covered by the vessel. Or is it just the number of vessels? For statistical analysis units are important so perhaps spelling them out in the description within the map will be helpful."

Feedback "It would be interesting if the time bar could show local time and/or night/day, or nautical dawn/nautical dusk. This is useful when reviewing tracks for a number of cases. Did the fishing event or fishing set occur at night or during the day or at dawn? Did the squid vessel have slow speeds at night and potentially fish, suggesting our 'night loitering' fishing algorithm is missing events and may need to be retuned? Did the encounter/loitering event occur at night/dawn/dusk?"

Feedback An additional filter for vessel size and/or gross tonnage could be useful at times. Example 1: filtering trawler activity to only look at trawlers longer than 100 metres (also referred to as "supertrawlers". Example 2: Vessel traffic through Tristan da Cunha Areas to be Avoided (ATBA). The ATBA is specific to vessels over 400 gross tonnage.

Feedback "Would it be possible to provide a downloadable file for SAR and/or night light detections with an EEZ? It is an amazing dataset, but I would like to be able to export it for additional visualization."

When viewing a vessel's track in the GFW map it would be great if when hovering over an encounter event you could click on the vessel name of the vessel encountered and this vessel's tracking data also loaded into the workspace.
